Well I have said that I want 2009 to be a better year for me than 2008 and that may be the case. 2008 was not a great year for me. My biggest downfall was the introduction of the support pager. Little did I know that this small object would haunt me day after day for most of the year. I am always so miserable when I have to carry it. Well that all could change.
Today I was approached by another IT manager. She has a position available in her group and after talking with Mark they think I may be a good fit. While changing teams scares me I think this is something I have to seek. After all this may be the change in 2009 I have been wanting. I don't have any details about the job yet but I am meeting with her today at 2:30. I haven't had much time to give it any thought but I am very interested in what they have to offer. I hope everything goes well and I keep my fingers crossed that this may be something good for me.

Busy weekend
This past weekend was a very busy one for us. The weekend started off as we celebrated Jaden's 2nd birthday. We had an elmo themed party and many of Jaden's friends were able to attend. We had a great turnout and alot of fun. Jaden has enjoyed playing with all of the new toys he recieved. He is really enjoying his Handy Manny and talking tools. The funniest thing for me to watch is him driving his little four-wheeler. Nana and PawPaw got him this little four-wheeler that only goes about 2mph. It is so cute to watch Jaden navigate around the house and I am impressed with his driving skills. He wasn't so sure at first but it took him all of about 3 minutes before he was driving around.
I hope to have some pictures posted soon so stay tuned.

Sample Sales
I love this time of year at work. Right before Christmas all of the merchandise department start cleaning out the sample rooms to make room for new merchandise. What does that mean for me. Sample sales and Ebid. Yesterday I went to a children's sample sale and although they didn't have much for small boys I did manager to pick up 6 3T shirts for $12 bucks. You can't beat it. And today I picked up endless pajama pants, a few belts, a pair of sunglasses and a nice handbag for under $20 bucks. The only downside is that you only have 10 minutes to shop. You can imagine the site with 30 women at one time sorting though a variety of items trying to find the best stuff all in 10 minutes time. Its alot of fun but can be quite stressful sometimes.
I am so excited about my purchases and can't wait to start wearing them.

Thought for the day
God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED. To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.
A friend sent me this today and it really spoke to me. Everything we go thru good and bad happens for a reason. The next time I am having a bad day I am going to remember this and just think about how God uses these things to shape me into the person I am meant to be.

Zoo
We went to the zoo a couple weeks back and here are a few pictures. Jaden really had a good time and loved seeing all of the animals.

Jaden loved to look at the pigs. They were very dirty and smelly and even Jaden agreed they needed a bath.

This picture came out surprising well even thought Jaden wasn't too thrilled about taking it.

Halloween

There is so much going on this Halloween weekend. First Jaden has a pumpkin parade at my office. This is just the cutest thing. All of the children in the daycare parade around the office in there costumes and trick or treat from the associates. It takes a good hour to complete the parade but it is so much fun. Next Jaden has his halloween party with his new class. This is my first time to meet some of the other parents and really get to know them and the children. After this we have the fall festival at church and I sure hope we have a better time than last year. Jaden was so young and the festival is so big...I think we were both overwhelmed.
I guess I should also mention the costume crazyness. After searching long and hard I found the perfect costume. It was a cute little cowboy costume from The Children's Place and it would allow for me to dress Jaden appropriately for hot/cold weather(we never know what to expect for halloween...looks like it may be warm this year). I was so excited when to buy this costume and was greatly disappointed to find out it was too big. But not to worry...I can make some alterations and it will be fine. Great in theory...but not how it happens. Jaden absolutely refuses to wear the costume much less let me see if my alterations have worked. So we are down to the last minute with no costume. After some long thinking I finally decided that he would be another cowboy. I bought him a Tony Romo jersey and a cowboys hat yesterday. Looks like my little "cowboy" is going to be Tony Romo this year. I will post pictures from all of our activities when I get them.

We took a quick family photo at the fall festival.

Doesn't he look like a pro. He loved any game that involved throwing a ball.

Another favorite...anything with water.

This was the biggest surprise of the night. Jaden actually wanted to ride the train. He didn't cry or anything. I guess having his buddy Ethan there helped.

Jaden loved the petting zoo. He really got a good laugh when the goats climbed on the fence to eat the food out of his hand.
