Halloween

There is so much going on this Halloween weekend. First Jaden has a pumpkin parade at my office. This is just the cutest thing. All of the children in the daycare parade around the office in there costumes and trick or treat from the associates. It takes a good hour to complete the parade but it is so much fun. Next Jaden has his halloween party with his new class. This is my first time to meet some of the other parents and really get to know them and the children. After this we have the fall festival at church and I sure hope we have a better time than last year. Jaden was so young and the festival is so big...I think we were both overwhelmed.

I guess I should also mention the costume crazyness. After searching long and hard I found the perfect costume. It was a cute little cowboy costume from The Children's Place and it would allow for me to dress Jaden appropriately for hot/cold weather(we never know what to expect for halloween...looks like it may be warm this year). I was so excited when to buy this costume and was greatly disappointed to find out it was too big. But not to worry...I can make some alterations and it will be fine. Great in theory...but not how it happens. Jaden absolutely refuses to wear the costume much less let me see if my alterations have worked. So we are down to the last minute with no costume. After some long thinking I finally decided that he would be another cowboy. I bought him a Tony Romo jersey and a cowboys hat yesterday. Looks like my little "cowboy" is going to be Tony Romo this year. I will post pictures from all of our activities when I get them.

We took a quick family photo at the fall festival.

Doesn't he look like a pro. He loved any game that involved throwing a ball.

Another favorite...anything with water.

This was the biggest surprise of the night. Jaden actually wanted to ride the train. He didn't cry or anything. I guess having his buddy Ethan there helped.

Jaden loved the petting zoo. He really got a good laugh when the goats climbed on the fence to eat the food out of his hand.

Potty

Jaden has been in his new class for a week now and it seems the older kids are already rubbing off on him. This morning I picked up his paperwork from school from the day before. On the sheet they normally write if he sits on the potty (which he does) but yesterday he actually went on the potty. I could not believe it (of course I have yet to see it with my own eyes). We have a potty at home but we don't really push him to use it much. We just let him sit on it with his diaper off and read a book or something. I figured it was much too early for him to actually use the potty. I guess I was wrong. Looks like I am going to have to start working with him to use his potty at home. I am not sure if I am ready for this "potty" adventure.

Transition

Well its official. My little boy is transitioning to the "big" boy classroom today. Although I know he will miss his Mimi I know he will really enjoy the new class. The have lots of activities and they really start to work on independence with each child. For example they have family style lunch and the children actually serve themselves. I imagine this can get quite messy. They do lots of fun art projects and they even have bike day.

As I was watching my little boy take the hand of his new teacher today to go outside and play on the playground...I felt a little sad. My little boy is growing up so fast.

Bronchitis

Well after over a week of coughing I have finally made it to the doctor. When you wake up in the morning and see you husband slept on the couch...its time to do something. I made an appointment with the doctor here at the office and she confirmed my thought...It was bronchitis.

So now I have a baggie full of samples and a handful of prescriptions to make it all better. I hope I start feeling better soon because my poor stomach muscles can't take any more coughing.

Rough weekend

Well I am glad the weekend is over. It was indeed a very rough one. First of all I had to trade on-call weekends when I went on my scrapbooking retreat. Well..this was my weekend. To top it off Josh was away on a golf retreat. So that left me, Jaden, and the pager all to ourselves. I don't know why it happens this way but everything seems to go wrong when I have the pager. It went off all hours of the night and didn't stop. If I tried to leave the house, it would go off. To make matters worse Jaden wasn't feeling the best and neither was I. I would like to say when Josh got back from his trip on Saturday that I got to take a break, but that wasn't the case. The pager won't allow it. Well on Monday I gave the pager up only to get it back in another week. Hope it goes better this time.

Thats ok...I get to redeem myself this weekend when I go to Canton with Shana. I can't wait!
